The windows on the first floor have all been replaced. The couple of weak floor areas in the Pine Shores Art Gallery have been reinforced. The original clapboard siding on the lower half of the building has been replaced on the front of the building and the other 3 sides have been sanded, bad boards replaced.
Still to be done includes: replacement of all upstairs windows with new inside and outside trim pieces. The cedar shake shingles on the upper exterior of the building will be replaced with new vinyl shingles and then the building exterior gets painted, except for the upper portion, which will be dark red shingled siding (so won’t need to be painted).
October 17th update: The windows have all been replaced and the lower half of the building has new cedar clapboard siding with a fresh yellow coat of paint and freshly painted white trim.
The upper exterior of the building is waiting for new imitation cedar shakes, dark red vinyl shingle siding is to be installed along with the final trim on the outside off the upper windows.
November 5th update:
The building remains closed at this time due to an upgrade in the original renovation plans. The entire 2nd floor carpeting has been removed and will have new sub-flooring and laminated floor boards installed in the gallery, office and storeroom. The stairs and chair storage area will get new carpeting, and all new window blinds will be installed by the end of November. The interior walls and stairwell have been freshly painted white.
The building exterior is pretty close to being completed, with the upper floor dark red siding (on back order) and new PSAA signage to be installed by mid-December.
We are hoping to open up the gallery again in early January with our Fabulous Fakes Show. Please watch your email messages for any updates on the opening in the next couple of weeks.
We can't wait to get back into the Stafford Gallery for classes and new shows!
